Manchu Manoj is gearing up with his latest film Current Theega which hits the screens tomorrow. We caught up with him for a brief chit chat. Let’s see what he has to say.
You and your team did a lot for the cyclone victims. Tell us about that ?
Yes ! I tried to do my bit for the cause, and all my fans have joined me in making this possible. Once we are done with our Current Theega release, we intend go there once again and carry on with the relief activities there.
Tell us about the technical team of Current Teega ?
I have known director Nageswara Reddy from quite some time now and have built up a very close relationship with him. Music director Achu is my best friend and always gives superb music for me. Cinematographer Satish has showcased me quite nicely in the film. Tirumala Kishore’s dialogues are apt and suit my body language quite well.
Tell us about Rakul Preet and Jagapathi Babu’s roles ?
Jagapathi Babu is like the backbone of the film. As soon as we narrated him the script, he immediately said yes and has given his best performance. Rakul Preet is the best co-star I have ever worked with. Her dedication is top class, and the way she goes about her role is amazing.
When will you work with senior directors ?
Even I am very eager to work with them some day. It would be a great learning experience to collaborate with them, and I am ready to forgo my remuneration also if I get a chance to work with them.
You never had have huge hits in your career. Do you feel bad about it ?
Yes ! You are correct. I never had any blockbuster hits, but at the same time I never had disastrous flops also. I try to give something new with every film, and thankfully audience are appreciating my efforts.
Rumors about you playing a negative role are making the rounds. Don’t you think it is risky ?
As I told you earlier, I always try to give something new with every film. Even in this project I play a role with negative shades, and I will let you know all the details about it pretty soon.
Have you seen the movie. What are the highlights ?
Yes ! I have seen the movie, and am very confident that this movie will be a huge hit. Music, Dialogues and entertainment factor are the major highlights of Current Theega.
