Interview : Naga Chaitanya – Yuddham Sharanam has superb twists throughout
Published on Sep 7, 2017 7:38 pm IST

Naga Chaitanya is busy promoting his film Yuddham Saranam which will release tomorrow. On this occasion, we caught up with him for a detailed interview. Here is the transcript.

What is Yuddham Saranam all about?

There are many thrillers which get made on a regular basis but Yuddham Saranam has a lot of family drama attached to it. There is also a love story and various twists in the film which will keep the audience engaged throughout.

Reason behind selecting your friend as the director?

Krishna is a very old friend of mine and we have been bouncing ideas on a regular basis. The moment he narrated Yuddham’s script, I was bowled over and gave the nod for the film. The way he designed my character in a new manner attracted me completely.

Working experience with Sai Korrapati?

He is a very gutsy producer who always gives chances to new comers. When such huge money is at stake, it is very risky to give opportunities to debutantes and Sai garu has done it many a time. The industry needs producers like him as more talent will come out on a regular basis.

Sharing screen space with Sreekanth?

Srikanth will be one of the biggest highlights post the film’s release. I never expected that he would agree to play a negative role and he has done a terrific job in the film. The director has nicely elevated his role and the last fight between us will be the biggest plus for the film.

About your role?

I play the role of a guy who makes drone cameras. The drone itself is a character in the film and the way hero uses technology to take his revenge has been shown in a very realistic manner.

Working with Revati, Rao Ramesh and Murali Sharma?

Both Rao Ramesh and Revathi play my parents in the film and their characters have been written in a very interesting manner. Murali Sharma plays a cop and his role will be quite humorous.

How excited are you about your wedding?

Well, the feeling is yet to sink in. As I am a simple person, we have decided to have a family wedding. We will have a Telugu wedding on the 6th of October and the very next day, we will exchange rings in a Christian wedding. The reception would be in Hyderabad and a date is yet to be fixed.

Future projects?

I will start my next film with Chandoo Mondeti on September 20th. It is an out and out commercial film which I am dying to start working on. I also have a film with Maruthi which is currently in its scripting stages.
