Rakul Preet Singh is currently the top star in Tollywood with some huge hits under her belt. On the eve of the huge success of Dhruva, we caught up with her for a detailed interview. Let’s see what she has to say.

How is the response for Dhruva?

Touchwood, the response has been amazing. Our film received positive talk right from the first show onwards and I am extremely happy with the way the audience have appreciated our efforts in such crunch situation.

You look ravishing in the songs. What kind of care went into the making?

I have worked very hard on my looks in the film. Especially, for the Pareshanuraa song, I was on a strict diet and did not even have water for hours. Both I and Charan wanted to look the fittest best and the results that have come out are just amazing. Also, the credit should go to Surender Reddy for shooting the song so stylishly.

How was it working with Surender Reddy for the second time?

It is always a great experience working with Suri. The comfort level increases with every film and it is very easy for an actress like me to understand how he is perceiving a scene.

Were you surprised when you were chosen for this film in spite of Bruce Lee’s failure?

Initially, I was. But credit should go to Surender Reddy in believing in me and offering me this role. At the same time, I also feel that hit or a flop in not in actor’s hands.

Why didn’t you dub for this film?

We planned to but as I was very busy, a dubbing artist was called upon.

How are you enjoying this new star status?

Frankly, I have worked really hard to reach where I am today. The star status is only for the audience as I am very normal in my real life and don’t take things for granted.

Do you have any dream directors in mind?

Yes ! I want to work with the super talented Rajamouli one day.

Future projects?

I have films lined up with Mahesh, Sai Dharam Tej, Karthi and Naga Chaitanya.

Finally, how are going to celebrate the new year?

After a gap of fours years, I am taking a break finally. I and my close friends will head to Goa for the new year’s eve.
