Milky beauty Tamannah, is at the pinnacle of her career and is doing some really interesting films. One such film of her which is creating a lot of buzz is Oopiri. One the occasion of the film’s release, we caught up with her for a detailed interview. Let’s see what she has to say.
Q) About your character ?
I play a very strict and on your face kind of character in Oopiri. My character looks quite stylish and is an personal assistant to Nagarjuna. Since the film is based abroad, I changed my look completely and wore really tight clothes to look like a posh assistant to a billionaire.
Q) Working experience with Nagarjuna ?
He should be given complete credit for accepting such a role which is quite difficult. All the youngsters should draw inspiration from him and should accept bold characters. I had a very good time shooting with him in Oopiri.
Q) You were not the first choice for the film. Did that make you think twice while signing this film ?
Shurthi was the first choice to play my role but for reasons unknown, she backed out and I was offered the film. When I heard the script, I felt that Oopiri was so honest and I signed it immediately.
Q) What made you dub for this film ?
With experience, my Telugu had become quite good. I felt that Oopiri is one film where I can go all out and give my best. Even though I took a lot of time, I managed to do a good job. Even in the future, if the audience like my dubbing, I will surely continue to do it.
Q) How was it working with Karthi ?
This is our third film together and I must say, Karthi has evolved as an actor big time. He will surely impress you big time with his performance in Oopiri.
Q) You have completed ten years in the industry. How do you feel ?
I feel completely blessed and especially thank the Telugu audience for giving me such warm love all these years. My career is on a high and the success I saw post Baahubali, I can’t explain it in words.
Q) How are you planning your future ?
I now feel that I am in a stage where I can experiment. For example, I am doing a complete female oriented role in my next film which is a trilingual featuring Prabhu Deva and Sonu Sood. I want to do diverse roles and be as versatile as possible.
Q) When are you going to shoot for Baahubali 2 ?
As of now, I have not allotted any dates for the film but am very excited to start working on the film which will once again change the face of Indian cinema.
Q) In all these years, is there any role which you wished you have done ?
Yes ! Kajal’s role in Mr Perfect. Initially, I was offered that role but things did not work out. I loved the role and missed doing that film.
