Surender Reddy has been one the most technically brilliant directors in Tollywood. He is now back with Allu Arjun’s Race Gurram. Also starring Kick Shyam and Shruthi Haasan, Race Gurram is slated to hit the screens on April 11th. We caught up with the talented director for a detailed interview. Let’s see what he has to say.
Q) Are you nervous about the film’s release ?
A) To be very frank, I am very confident about the film, and very eager to see the feedback of the viewers.
Q) Why did you name the film Race Gurram ?
A) As all the horses which take part in races have only one target, that is to reach their destination. Our hero in the film also has different targets in the film, and reaches his goal by hook or crook. That is the reason we named this film Race Gurram.
Q) Tell us something about the story line of the film ?
A) This film is a story of two brothers who do things differently. While one brother follows rules and regulations, the other tries to achieve it in his own way.
Q) How as it working with Allu Arjun ?
A) Race Gurram is a perfect script for Bunny and he has done complete justice to his role. I had a wonderful time with Bunny and he has become more than a friend during the course of this film.
Q) How has Shruthi Haasan’s role come out ?
A) She has a wonderful and entertaining role in the film. She will surely tickle your funny bone through out the flick.
Q) What do you have to say about the rumours that your film is close to Tadhaka ?
A) No ! My film is nothing close to Tadhaka. This is a complete new script, with lots of family entertainment and emotions
Q) Bunny is a stylish actor, and you are considered to be a stylish director. How stylish is the film going to be ?
A) Over all the film, has turned out in a very stylish way. Major reason for this is the camera work by Manoy Parama Hamsa. He has taken this taken this film to another level with his taking.
Q ) Tell us something about the production values of Race Gurram ?
A) All the credit goes to Bujji garu for the way the film has turned up. He has never said no to anything that we required, and has planned the shoot and even the release of this film perfectly.
Q) What are your future projects ?
A) I am going to start Kick 2 in August. Then I will be doing a youthful entertainer with new comers in the lead.
Q) Any Bollywood aspirations ?
A) Yes! Of course. Once I give a super hit in Telugu, I have major plans to step into Bollywood.
With that we ended our conversation with Surender Reddy and wished him the best of luck for his film. Keep watching this space for more updates on Race Gurram.
