It’s been an extremely interesting year for Samantha so far. Fresh from the success of Dookudu, she began her year with S S Rajamouli’s Eega which turned out to be a huge hit. Incidentally, the film’s Tamil version Naan Ee was her first hit in Tamil cinema. When she started shooting for her projects earlier this year, she had Siddharth-Nandini Reddy’s film, Yevadu, Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu, Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and Autonagar Surya to her credit. Apart from this, she was also in talks for Mani Ratnam’s Kadal, Shankar’s I and another big budget Tamil film.

Right when everything seemed to be going great, she fell sick which kept her out of action for almost two months. In turn, this triggered several rumours about her health and finally she made a comeback to finish all her existing projects. Soon, she was dropped from Ram Charan starrer Yevadu and by then, she had already been replaced from both Mani Ratnam and Shankar’s films.

Her recent film, Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu is currently playing in theatres and she’s has got rave reviews for her performance. “Off on my long awaited holiday soon.. This year has given me my biggest highs Nd some scary lows.. But neither are permanent.. Successful. I would call it one of my best years.. 2012,” she posted on Twitter. Her line up of films, apart from the ones which are ready for release, is extremely promising. She is going to play the lead role in Pawan Kalyan-Trivikram Srinivas’ film, NTR-Harish Shankar’s film, NTR-Santosh Srinivas’ film and another untitled film with Surya.
