Gunasekhar has a reputation for building lavish sets in most of his films and he got rave reviews for the sets designed for films like Okkadu and Arjun. As per the latest reports, his latest film Rudramadevi is going to set a new benchmark in his career in terms of grandeur. It’s the first historical India film which is being shot in the 3D format and already, 35% of the film has been wrapped up. The next schedule is going to begin from July 3 in Annapurna Seven Acres studio and several important scenes and a song are going to be shot in this schedule.

Interestingly, reports suggest that Gunasekhar has spent nearly Rs 5 crores on the jewellery which Anushka is going to wear in the film. Costume designer Neeta Lulla, who had earlier worked on Jodha Akbar, has designed the look for Anushka and buzz is that she has worn real gold and diamonds worth Rs 5 crores in the film. “The jewellery designs which Anushka has worn in the film will become as popular as those in Jodha Akbar. We are all extremely happy with the way the film has shaped up so far,” Gunasekhar said. Suman is playing the villian’s role and it’s the first time he’s playing such a role in Telugu. The film also stars Rana, Krishnam Raju, Prakash Raj, Zara Shah, Nathalia Kaur and several other actors. Ilayaraja is scoring the music.
