Published on May 9, 2017 11:49 am IST

After the debacle of Mister, Lavanya Tripathi is back with yet another interesting project called Radha. The film is up for a release on the 12th of May and on this occasion, we caught up with Lavanya for a brief interview. Here is the transcript.

So, who is Radha in the film?

Laughs! Both me and Sharwanand are playing Radha in the film. Even though both have the same names, our characters are quite different in the film which is a typical commercial entertainer.

Your role in the film?

I play a college going girl in this film and my role is quite modern and humorous. There are all the typical commercial elements in the film and my role also has a very good twist which will take the film to an interesting mode after a point.

How has the film turned out?

The film has turned out well and there is also a suspense element in the movie. Sharwa has done a very good job in his role of a cop and our romantic track will be one of the major highlights in the film.

Working experience with Sharwa?

This is the first time that I am working with Sharwa. He is a completely different person when the camera is on and is always thinking how to improvise his scene. We got along quite well even though Sharwa is not much talkative in real life.

Did Mister’s failure disappoint you?

No! not at all. I loved my role which came out superbly on screen. For me, hits and flops do not affect me much as I give my best for every film. Success is not in our hands so there is no reason to crib such things.

Working with director Chandra Mohan?

I had a great time working with him. He was very clear as to what he wanted from me. I feel that actors should surrender to the director and give whatever they want from you.

How does your family react on your career?

They are very happy and do not interfere with my work. They are mostly happy with seeing me on screen. As everybody in my home is busy with their respective careers, we do not discuss much work.

Future projects?

I am doing a film with Chaitanya which has completed its first schedule. The film is turning out quite well and I am so excited to start the second schedule.

Working with both Nag and Chay?

It is a very rare opportunity to work with both father and son. Everybody has their own approach and I just loved working with Nag sir. He is like a mentor and with Chay, I am slowly getting to know him better.
