Ever since he took charge as the President of the Tamil Film Producer’s Council, Tamil star Vishal has been acting tough on the pirates who have been putting up new releases online on the opening day, causing huge losses to the film trade. Ahead of his latest release, Thupparivaalan, Vishal even got the admin of a piracy website named Tamil Gun arrested and went on to vow to nab any pirate who leaks the movie on the internet.
But in a rude shock to Vishal, Tamil Rockers, a notorious piracy website, streamed Thupparivaalan within a few hours of the film’s release yesterday. The website’s audacity has once again thrown light on the huge challenge filmmakers and authorities face in curtailing piracy.
