The hike in ticket prices continues to draw mixed response from film circles. Secretary of the producers council, TVD Prasad criticized the hike yesterday. He said that the ticket price increase was only to benefit the big producers and the government was killing small films by taking such decisions. He said that the theater owners would further increase their rents now and ultimately the producer would have to be the one to bear the brunt. He requested that the government look into the other problems plaguing the industry before taking a call on this. Meanwhile, the producer of King, D Sivaprasad Reddy said that the price rise was a boon for his film. He said that big producers would lose out if the prices were not hiked even if their movies were big hits.
