Vijay, Kajal starrer Thuppakki took a flying start at box office in Tamil Nadu prompting trade analysts to suggest that it could be one of the biggest hits this year. Apart from Vijay and his fans, the director of the film A R Murugadoss is extremely thrilled with the response. For the past couple of days, he has been inundated with congratulatory messages from fans and his peers in the industry, but the biggest surprise came from Superstar Rajinikanth himself. Buzz is that Rajinikanth personally called Murugadoss and appreciated him for making a good entertainer. Sharing the news, Murugadoss tweeted, “Our Thalaivar Rajini sir called me and said – ‘I have seen the film twice now. Fantastic job and a brilliant film’. Now I’m super happy.” The film also stars Vidyut, Sathyan and Jayaram in important roles. Thuppakki’s Telugu version has got a positive response in Andhra Pradesh as well, but it remains to be seen if it can perform well at box office in the next couple of weeks. Harris Jayaraj had composed the music and Santosh Sivan is the cinematographer. Shoba Rani released the film across AP under SVR Media banner.
