Deva Katta is all set to kickstart shooting for Prasthanam’s Hindi remake from June 1. Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt is going to reprise Saikumar’s role, apart from producing the movie. While everyone in Tollywood is wondering how Deva has pulled off this project, Deva revealed the entire story in a latest interview with an English daily.
“It was in 2011 that Sanjay Dutt first watched Prasthanam. He loved it so much that he approached me himself for the Hindi remake,” Deva said, revealing how the project had materialized. However, it was later put on hold as Sanjay was imprisoned. Deva is all praises for the actor’s dedication towards the film even after facing numerous challenges in his personal life.
“Sanjay is man of his word. After we had discussed the remake when Prasthanam released in Telugu, life just took over. He was in a fix because of all his personal troubles, so I too thought the remake would never happen. But despite all that, he hadn’t forgotten the word he had given me. He came back and took this film up once again. His dedication towards Prasthanam is a big motivation factor for all of us,” Deva said.
