The Intermediate Board exams have begun today across the state amidst tight security. Today, around 18 lakhs students across 2331 centres are going to write their first exam, which happens to be the second language for first year students. Set-1 question paper has been selected for this exam. The intermediate board exams were embroiled in a controversy since January when protests erupted in OU and the Telangana JAC, OU JAC called for postponing the exams indefinitely. Later on, when the dates were announced, Prof.Kodandaram and some other members of the Telangana JAC protested infront of the Intermediate Board office and demanded that the answer sheets of Telangana students should be corrected in Telangana itself. Although, the government hasn’t given any commitment on this issue, it is a good sign that the exams have begun without any further delay and lets hope that they are carried on smoothly.
