Like instant coffee, like instant starch, the BJP promised instant
Telangana if elected. Telangana within 100 days was the BJP's promise
in its Vijay Sankalp Yatra held yesterday in Parade Grounds in
Secunderabad. It was Congress bashing in full flow in the meeting.
LK Advani, the BJP president spoke for over an hour and half with a
translation in Telugu by senior leader Venkaiah Naidu. 'The period
between 2004-2009 can be renamed as Drohkaal. This was the time when
the UPA government went back on each and everyone of its promises. We
are not chanting the Telangana mantra for electoral gains. We are
genuinely for the formation of a separate state and we will see that
it is formed within a hundred days if we are voted to power. We
request you to give us the required strength. When Chiranjeevi formed
a party, I called and congratulated him. 25 yrs ago NTR created a
sensation and uprooted the Congress party from its high perch. I
really hope Chiranjeevi can do something similar. We are open to
working with him, but we need him to be clear on certain issues', said
Advani. The meet was pretty well attended, but it was mostly
BJYuvamorcha members that were visible. Compared to the recent
political meetings held in the state, this might have been a small
one, but considering the BJP's current situation in the state, it was
a pretty impressive turnout.
