The BJP state executive member, Mr Bhawarlala Varma, who is also the
incharge of Secundarabad Cantonment Board – (SCB) got a rude shock from
the SCB. He received a notice stating that his party had to pay the SCB a
sum of Rs. 2.52 lacs as fine. The fine was for violating rules and going
ahead with an unauthorized display of a publicity flexi hoarding on the eve
of its sankalp yatra meeting held at parade grounds on November 13. The
notice was issued by the DEO, P circle Mr S. Balakrishna, who will now have
to deal with another controversy regarding the hoarding. The hoarding
adjoining the parade grounds, now carries an ad for the a huge Christmas
program meeting which will be addressed by CM’s son-in-law Anil Kumar.
But, Mr. Balakrishna is not one to back down. He is trying to find out how
the hoarding sprang up there all of a sudden. The last thing the SCB wants,
is to appear to act in a partisan manner or be caught unawares in an
unwitting communal war. The Secunderabad Cantonment has large sections of
minorities living within its municipal limits, and in all fairness has
maintained an impeccable record of communal harmony compared to other parts
of the twin cities.
