Standing next to Dr. YSR, Tollywood star Mahesh Babu lit up the Congress
camp with his million watt smile. At the Nandi Awards function on Sunday
evening Krishna’s younger son was the cynosure of all eyes. Receiving the
best actor award from CM Dr. YSR, the actor said Dr. Reddy was “lucky”
for him. Speaking after receiving the award the actor said “this is the
second time that I am receiving the Nandi award from Dr. Reddy. He is very
lucky for me.” The function also saw Akkineni Nagarjuna joining the
stage along with Krishna, Mahesh Babu and Dr YSR and waving to the crowd.
Though it still lags behind Chiranjeevi in terms of mass popularity, with
Nagarjuna, Mahesh babu and Mohanbabu the Congress is beefing up its fire
power in Tollywood. The TDP on the other hand could do with some strong
support cast for the enormously popular Balakrishna. Balakrishna is TDP's
answer to Chiranjeevi. But, the TDP office is very well aware that a
Kalyanram and Tarakaratna are definitely not in the league of a Jr.NTR. So,
Chandrababu Naidu has to iron out the differences among the Nandamuris, and
rope in this charismatic grandson of the late NTR. Jr. NTR has it in him to
tilt the balance in the TDP's favour.
