Congress workers attack PRP leaders in Pulivendula

18 November 2008, Hyderabad.

In a shocking incident, Congress party workers allegedly attacked a convoy of Praja Rajyam party leaders late evening in Pulivendula. The Congress workers were reportedly displeased that Praja Rajyam party posters were stuck in front of their houses in the area. The car in which PRP leader Sobha Nagireddy was traveling and a couple of other vehicles in the convoy were damaged in the attack. PRP leader Allu Arvind immediately condemned the attack and said that today was a black day for democracy. The leader requested Chiranjeevi's fans and the party cadre not to react violently to the incident and to stay calm. The cadre have been invited to come to the Gandhi statue in Pulivendula tomorrow and hold a silent protest against the attack. Congress legislature party leader, Tulasi Reddy said that the attack was the handiwork of some anti-social elements or it might even have been organized by the PRP itself to gain some cheap publicity.
