State cabinet minister M Venkata Ramana described the CPI general secretary K Narayana as a 'political joker'. Narayana had earlier said that the minister belonged to the fishermen caste but was ruining the lives of fishermen by backing the coastal corridor project. The minister responded to this statement and said that the CPI leader was a political joker that can fir into any pack of cards. 'He belongs to the CPI and calls himself a communist leader. How can he talk about caste? Isn't that supposed to be against their policies? He is blackmailing the government in the name of people's issues and communist ideologies', said the minister. He also said that Narayana was making allegations against him without any proof. Where is the 200 acres of land that I supposedly got, if he can prove it, I will distribute the land to the poor, the minister said.
