Purandareswari is keen on completing her late father’s unfinished
business – that of finishing off a Chandrababu Naidu in the political
arena. On a tour in the coastal heartland she recalled how NTR had
described CBN as "Aurungzeb.’ She vowed that she would never let the CBN
claim "NTR’s legacy for sheer political ends." She launched a scathing
attack on Naidu describing him as a politician who has "no credibility left
and therefore, would not succeed in the elections.” It was YSR who first
decided to checkmate CBN with Purandareswari. This strategy got its green
signal from Sonia and since then Purandareswari has been hitting the roads
in a bid to “expose” CBN. For his part, Chandrababu Naidu is bound by
lines that he cannot cross when it comes to attacking Purandareswari. The
Union Minister on her part is clear that she is taking on Naidu spurred by
her own conscience. She is quoted as been saying that “if the Congress
wants me to take him on at every assembly constituency, I will do so". The
issue that irked her the most was "Naidu claiming my father’s legacy
after having betrayed and destroyed him."
