Throwing cold water on KCR’s claim that the Congress is in the process of
responding positively to a separate Telengana, Dr YSR reiterated that there
was no question of the government moving in a motion for a separate state
in the winter session of the assembly. The Congress is very well aware of
the political risk that it is taking. YSR knows that if the resolution was
to be tabled it would get unanimous approval from TDP, CPI and BJP. And in
his wisdom he has successfully convinced the high command in Delhi, not to
do so. In his press conference, YSR merely stated that the issue of
Telengana was to be settled in Delhi and the local government had nothing
to do with the proceedings. He said that the focus in the winter session
of the assembly would be on deciding whether to go in for full budget or
vote on account.
