The practice of ragging, which was started with a good intention but has become an evil practice over the years has claimed another promising life. Harish Kumar, a student of Anantapur Polytechnic college succumbed at the Government hospital in Kurnool today after a three month battle with death. Harish had joined the diploma in civil engineering course in the Anantapur Polytechnic, but had returned home after a month unable to tolerate the ragging in the college. He drank the acid cleaner in the rest room three months ago and has been battling with death ever since. He finally succumbed this morning and breathed his last. Even with strict laws in place, such incidents have been occurring with alarming regularity. The onus now lies on the students to think if getting acquainted with juniors needs to come at such a huge cost.
