The “car” is jam packed. KCR has announced the formation of a
203-member state committee with his son Rama Rao at the helm of affairs.
None of the sitting MPs and MLAs, including his nephew T.Harish Rao, were
in the list announced by KCR. The list was a reflection of KCR’’s aim
to include members of prominent castes and communities in the decision
making process. KCR had for long fought the stigma of running his party in
an autocratic fashion. He has effectively silenced that criticism with this
list. KCR also announced a list of district in charge’s which had the
names of quite a few of his trusted lieutenants. M.Madhusudhana Rao (for
Greater Hyderabad), B. Vinod Kumar (Karimnagar), Capt V. Lakshmikantha Rao
(Warangal), T. Harish Rao (Nizamabad) are some of the prominent names that
are in charge of key districts. KCR feels that the TRS is now better
equipped to handle an election than it was in mid-2004. He has instructed
office bearers to begin district tours as he is convinced that elections
will take place in the 3rd week of February 2009.
