If something seems too good to be true, it usually is. The never ending
list of subsidy list of the Congress can be bracketed in that category.
Power, rice, fertilizers, education, loan waivers, DAs for staff, and gas
connections the Congress government is doling out goodies faster than Santa
Claus on a sleigh. But as the empty treasury is ringing hollow, the warning
bells are being heard with an increasing alarm from the finance ministers
– both at the center and the state. What is, however surprising is none
of the major opposition parties in the state, are keen on getting any
mileage by stating this simple truth. Chandrababu Naidu seems to be
hypnotized by the “corrupt congress” phenomenon while the TRS and the
left, are busy focusing their energies on seeking appropriate alliances.
Surprisingly, it was Chiranjeevi in his Rayalaseema tour who was the first
one to speak about this. “Pyru Pacchaga vunna, pantantha dollae” said
Chiranjeevi referring to the way wealth was siphoned off in the name of
subsidies. Political observers here see Upendra's thoughts in Chiranjeevi's
observation. They are already drawing parallels to the manner in which
Upendra nurtured NTR when the TDP was formed in 1983. Twenty five years
later, they say, it is now upon Upendra’s shoulders to make yet another
star shine in A.P's politics.
