Venkaiah Naidu of BJP will soon be getting a legal notice from Congress
general secretary and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh.
Mr. Singh said he would issue the legal notice to former BJP president
Venkaiah Naidu for alleging that he had links with the Pakistani
intelligence agency ISI. According to Singh, Naidu had made this allegation
against him at a press conference in Raipur two days ago. Digvijay Singh
said this was tantamount to questioning his national integrity and this
simply was unacceptable. Singh then went on to equate the VHP and Bajrang
Dal to the banned outfit SIMI. “These outfits (SIMI, VHP and Bajrang
Dal) are all involved in similar anti-national activities,’’ Singh
alleged. “The Maharashtra ATS should be congratulated for exposing the
role of right wing terrorists in the Malegaon blasts,’’ he said. The
BJP has come under tremendous pressure after being accused of being soft on
“Hindu Terror” outfits. Sections of the left and the Congress have at
various stages called for imposing a bandh on the VHP and the Bajrang
Dal.
