TDP leaders slam Praja Rajyam’s attitude

07 September 2008, Hyderabad.

TDP leader Yerram Naidu and Telugu Mahila president Roja took it upon themselves to attack the Praja Rajyam party yesterday. While Yerram Naidu criticized the proposed pact between the Praja Rajyam and the Samajwadi party in the state, Roja criticized the party leader Chiranjeevi and said that he had no clarity about issues in the state. Yerram Naidu spoke to the press in the assembly premises and said that Chiranjeevi was turning out to be another opportunistic leader. ‘How can Chiranjeevi have a pact with a party that works with the Congress in the centre? How can they work with a Congress supporter and try to defeat the Congress in the state? This shows their opportunistic attitude’, he said. On the question of Samajwadi party having the same symbol as the TDP, he said that even if the Samajwadi Party contests in the state, the symbol will remain with the TDP.

On the other hand, Telugu Mahila President Roja said that Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi lacked clarity on issues in the state. She said that Chiranjeevi had avoided all key issues in his speech and said that he would comment on them after a detailed analysis, showing that he had no clarity on them. Se said that several senior leaders who had joined Praja Rajyam felt insulted at the way they were not even allowed onto stage in Tirupati. Praja Rajyam is a one man show and it will not go far, she concluded.
