Thaman is probably one of the busiest music directors in the Telugu film industry, of late, being involved with many films along with few other dubbed movies too. His next one Kandireega has been released recently, and will it better than his recent ones?

1. Gentleman
Lyrics: Bhaskarabhatla
Singer: Ranjith

Kandireega Right from the beginning, Gentleman sounds like many previous songs from Thaman. Ranjith’s voice too sounds repetitive, though his energy cannot go unnoticed. Bhaskarabhatla’s words have some wisdom for the boys today, though it could be lost in the overall feel it generates. However, the song has some energy.

2.Champakamala
Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry
Singer: Karthik, Suchitra

Kandireega Champakamala is a relief from Thaman as he comes up with a new kind of composition after some time. The English lyrics (crooned by Thaman himself?) set the tone for a very interesting number, which sounds more like a conversation than a romantic number. For a change Ramajogayya Sastry’s lyrics take the cake beating the contribution from the music director or the singers. Karthik is too good, and on the whole the song is more a situational one, than something that will be remembered as a great composition.

3.Nenkodithey
Lyrics: Bhaskarabhatla
Singer: Naveen, M.L.R.Karthikeyan, Alaap Raju, Ranjith, Ranina Reddy & Dharshana

Kandireega After an interesting number, the next one Nenkodithey is a typical south Indian song filled with lots of traditional and western drums mixed with some electronic instruments and a trumpet. The song is an obvious hero-praising number, and Bhaskarabhatla uses lots of words that sound more rhetoric than poetic.

4. Angelina
Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry
Singer: Ranjith Ranina Reddy

Kandireega It seems Thaman has been caught up with the effect of his song Okkadante Okkade from Ragada, and has been using few similar tunes in his recent Telugu films. Angelina is just that, except that it has ‘massy’ lyrics from Ramajogayya Sastry. Ranjith and Ranina are energetic with their voices but the song has nothing special otherwise.

5.Premey
Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry
Singer: Ranjith, Hemachandra, Deepu, Revanth Kumar, M.L.R.Karthikeyan, Bindu, Mahima, Geetha Madhuri, Shravana Bhargavi

Kandireega Premey is a better number than the previous one. The confusing lyrics are masked completely by the energy that is spread from the voices of many singers. However, there seems to be some level of fun element in the song, but it will be more visible on screen than in the album. Overall the songs in Kandireega have some level of energy, but Thaman’s familiar tunes and beats spoil the fun. Obviously energy alone cannot make a Telugu film album and Thaman is still due for a proper melody that Telugu audiences fall for. The audio of Kandireega isn’t as enticing as Thaman’s previous works, but one hopes that Ram somehow makes up for it in the movie.
