Composing tunes for Ravi Teja is a challenge because it has to cater to the whackiness that the actor generall portrays. Thaman has so far stood up to the challenge and delivered some entertaining stuff since he teamed up with Ravi Teja since Kick. Can he deliver the same with Veera?

1. Ekkadekkada…
Singer: Ramya N.S.
Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry

VeeraLike any usual Thaman’s music album, Veera starts off on a good note. Ramya’s voice is husky and more. Ramajogayya Sastry’s lyrics have the punch, and the electric guitars make them even more enjoyable. The only downside is that this one reminds you of a song from Ragada - okkadante okkade which came from the same combo of lyricist and singer too! Unlike the former, Thaman adds a twist of Indian beats to this one, to make it sound different.

2.O Meri Bhavri
Singers: Thaman. S, Bindu Mahima
Lyrics: Rahaman

VeeraO Meri Bhavri has a very hip-hop beat to it, with interesting wordings. Thaman underplays his own voice while ensuring that he gave Bindu’s voice more amplitude. A not so catchy tune toward the later stanzas is disguised with good music of instruments. It is the rap (by Baba Sehgal?) that is the best part of this number.

3.Chitti Chitti
Singer: Karthik
Lyrics: Bhaskarabhatla

Veera Thaman has been following this particular trait – he uses the names of female characters in the movies to get a fast paced number written. Chitti Chitti is one such, with Karthik and the female singer adding the required zing. Thaman gives this one a very 1980s feel using few beats and instruments. However, he never lets down the entertainment factor, which is expected from a Ravi Teja kind of a dance song. The way he uses his violins, bass guitar(s) is as good as A.R.Rahaman of early 90s, (but there is something missing though).

4. Chinnari
Singers: Karthik
Lyrics: Sirasri

VeeraChinnari is a slow number, with meaningful lyrics. Karthik renders this one with lot of depth. Thaman waits till Karthik to finish the song, after which he ends it sweetly.

5.O Sanam
Singers: Ranjith, Roshini
Lyrics: Bhaskarabhatla

Veera O Sanam is definitely one of the better compositions from Thaman in the recent times. He enhances Bhaskarabhatla’s neatly compiled words beautifully, aided equally well by the singers Ranjith (or is it Karthik?) and Roshini. While this one sounds like a marriage song, Thaman gives it an interesting twist with a semi-western feel.

6.Maavilla (Remix)
Singers: Muralidhar & Ganga
Lyrics: Bandaru Danayya Kavi

VeeraMaavilla is a very catchy folk song with lyrics that have loads of double entseem suitable for an item song. Thaman keeps it simple and leaves the song to the playfulness of the singers.

7.Veera Veera
Singers:M.L.R Karthikeyan & Ranina Reddy
Lyrics: Abhinaya Srinivas

Veera Veera Veera sounds like a number that is generally used in the typical introduction songs of a Telugu cinema hero. Yet again this one has got the beat that will make few get up from their seats and dance.

On the whole the songs of Veera come with an aim – to ensure that the songs entertain Ravi Teja’s fans. Inspite of lacking in creating melodious tunes, Thaman’s uses his instruments adeptly and keeps up the tempo of almost all the songs. The song O Sanam is the best amongst those in the album, and might becomes a big hit.
