One of the most highly regarded actors of all time, Kamal Haasan, has once again fired on the censor board. Alleging that the censor board has been stifling his creative freedom since a long time, Kamal also said that it is not the censor panel members but the set of rules with which they scrutinize his films is the biggest concern.
Speaking about the VHP ban on his upcoming release ‘Uttama Villain’, Kamal said that his rationalistic ideologies could be the reasons for religious and political groups targeting him before the release of his films. Kamal also said that his films are never about religions or rationalists but revolve around people.
After being cleared with a clean U certificate, ‘Uttama Villain’ is gearing up for a grand release on 1st May. Meanwhile, the VHP’s Chennai wing had given a letter to the Chennai Police Commissioner seeking a ban on the film, saying that it will hurt Hindu sentiments.
