Legendary auteur, Mani Ratnam, has been honoured with a special icon award and the screening of his 1993 film, Bombay, at the ongoing London Indian Film Festival last night. During the event, the master filmmaker also delivered a masterclass to the aspiring filmmakers and film lovers, in which he talked about his life, career in films and also about producing films and working with some of the finest actors in the country.
Incidentally, international honours only continue to pour in for the veteran director, as a special retrospective of his films will take place from 31st July till 2nd August at the Museum of Moving Image in New York, America. Mani Ratnam will take part in a Q & A session, following the screenings of Roja, Bombay and Dil Se.
On the films front, Mani Ratnam is into the pre-production work for his upcoming romantic entertainer, Komaali. Mani Ratnam will be directing Karthi, Dulquer Salmaan, Nayanthara and Shruti Haasan in this love saga, which will commence from December.
