As announced yesterday, film star and Jana Sena President Pawan Kalyan today lashed out at the ruling BJP in a series of tweets on HCU PhD scholar Rohith Vemula’s suicide issue.
Pawan alleged the BJP had taken Rohith’s case personally and that his suspension and boycott on campus eventually forced Rohith to take the extreme step several months ago.
Pawan lamented that while the opposition parties were trying to gain political mileage out of Rohith’s suicide, BJP was busy proving that Rohith was not a Dalit. Finally, Pawan hoped that Indian universities will one day be hailed for their academic excellence rather being battlegrounds for the political parties.
