Director Shankar is well known for his never-before-seen visual spectacles in almost all his friends till date. But for 2.0, he has gone a step higher in terms of sound. Along with the film’s Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty and the film’s producers at Lyca Productions, Shankar has come up with a new sound technology SRL (Shankar, Resul, Lyca) 4D for 2.0.
During the theatrical trailer launch event in Chennai yesterday, Shankar requested all the film exhibitors in Tamil Nadu and elsewhere to equip their theaters to support the SRL 4D sound format so that audiences will get the best viewing experience in 3D image and 4D sound. Apart from the traditional 3D sound system, the SRL 4D format will additionally have speakers installed under the chairs to offer a unique 4-dimensional sound experience.
Promptly obliging the maverick director’s appeal, several exhibitors in Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu are installing new speakers in their theaters to screen 2.0. If audiences appreciate the SRL 4D sound designer in 2.0, no wonder that the film will encourage more filmmakers to follow suit.
