Tamil actor Karthi has clarified that he won’t be campaigning for any candidate or political party in the upcoming elections in Tamil Nadu. The actor took to Twitter to clarify his stance after rumours started doing rounds that he’ll be campaigning soon.
The 2019 general and state elections in Tamil Nadu has become a star-studded contest with the likes of Kamal Haasan and several others announcing their intent to contest in elections. While Rajinikanth has distanced himself from contesting in elections altogether, several political parties have been luring popular actors from the film industry to campaign on their behalf.
Instead, Karthi announced that he’ll be performing his duty as a citizen of the country and cast his vote without fail on April 18, when the elections are held all over Tamil Nadu.
There are queries about me campaigning in this election. Absolutely not. I will participate as a voter alone. Thanks.
