After Telangana CM KCR, it’s now the turn of Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan to come to the rescue of over 1,100 theaters across the state post COVID lockdown. Today, the AP government announced various sops as part of ‘restart package’ for the revival of theaters and offer livelihood to thousands of workers in Telugu film industry.
Under this ‘restart package’ that will cost the state’s exchequer Rs 4.18 crore, the AP government will be providing working capital loans ranging from Rs 10,00,000 and Rs 5,00,000 to exhibitors from the A, B and C centres respectively. These loans come with a moratorium of 6 months for the commencement of repayment and an interest subsidy of 4.5% would be given during the first year. Also, single screens and multiplexes across Andhra Pradesh are exempted from paying the electricity bills for 3 months.
Hero Chiranjeevi and several noted Tollywood producers and actors took to social media and posted appreciation messages thanking the Andhra Pradesh CM.
