Veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor passed away in April, 2020 due to Leukemia. Months before his death, Rishi Kapoor kick-started a film, titled Sharmaji Namkeen.
Due to Rishi Kapoor’s death, the film’s shooting was stalled and never resumed even after the Covid-19 restrictions were relaxed. Meanwhile, the latest news is that Sharmaji Namkeen is all set to resume soon and noted Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal will be continuing the same role in the movie. Being directed by debutant Hitesh Bhatia, Sharmaji Namkeen is produced by Farhan Akhtar in association with MacGuffin Pictures.
Reportedly, the film is going to have a theatrical release on September 4, 2021, as a tribute to Rishi Kapoor on his birth anniversary.
