It is quite common for filmmakers to target the holiday period to release their films. If there is a big weekend then surely it’s a blessing for the producers. Right now the situation is exactly the same for this Independence day weekend.
As close to five films are lined up to test their luck at the box office. Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is coming back to the big screen after a gap of four years with the PAN Indian film Laal Singh Chaddha. The film is being presented by Megastar Chiranjeevi and distributed by Geetha Arts in Telugu. The film will lock horns with Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan on the very same date.
On 12th August Nikhil and Anupama Parameswaran’s Karhtikeya 2 is releasing. The film is carrying good buzz across trade and is expected to open well. Karthikeya 2 will be clashing with Nithiin’s Macherla Niyojakavargam on 12th August which gained huge attention with its special song. There are rumours floating around that Vikram’s Cobra has been postponed, but an official confirmation is awaited.
On 13th August Swathi muthyam a family entertainer starring Ganesh Bellamkonda and Varsha Bollamma will hit the screens. With many releases lined up, only time decides which movie will cash on this holiday advantage well and rake in good numbers.
