Director Sudha Kongara made heads turn with her directorial Soorarai Pottru which has Suriya in the lead role. The film is a partial biopic of Air Deccan founder Captain Gopinath. Apart from countless appreciations, the film also swept the 68th National Film Awards.
On this occasion, the director shared a note thanking all her well-wishers. She became quite emotional as she was not able to share this big moment with her father who passed away. She further conveyed her gratitude to her guru Mani Ratnam, and the actors, technicians, friends, and media who have supported her throughout the film journey.
