Young actor Aberaam Varma attracted audiences with the films like Manu and Rahu. This time he is set to entertain with a breezy rom-com titled Neetho, directed by Balu Sharma. The film arrived in theatres today and let’s see how it is.

Story:

Varun is an employee in an insurance company whose job is at risk. With the help of his uncle, Varun manages to get a wedding insurance policy for Meghana (Saathvika Raj) and Satya’s marriage. Varun is anxious since this policy is so crucial to his professional career. Also, he has a girlfriend with whom he has understanding issues. Did the said marriage take place? Is Varun’s job safe? What are the hurdles faced by Varun in this process? Watch the film to know the answers.

Plus Points:

Aberaam Varma is the main attraction in this rom-com. He performed Varun’s role in a neat manner which has innocence in it. The emotions portrayed by the actor, who is tense about his job, are too good. After Aberaam, it is Saathvika Raj who dominates the show. She looked good and did well in crucial scenes.

Certain dialogues are well-written and meaningful. There are a few good moments in both halves that give an okayish feel. Ravi Varma, Rajeev Kanakala, and others are good in their respective roles.

There aren’t over-the-top laughable sequences, but the subtle comedy in a few places will make you chuckle. The entire film is set in a breezy manner which is delightful to watch.

Minus Points:

The film’s main drawback is its snail-paced narrative which turned out to be a bit boring and tests the patience at times. This rom-com should have ended in a crisp manner, but the director took so long to establish the actual plot. Many unwanted scenes are included in the film, which doesn’t add much value as far as the film’s plot is concerned.

The scenes are too lengthy, and the long single-shot sequences affect the viewing experience. After a point in time, the film becomes predictable too, which doesn’t excite us much. More magical moments should have been included in the movie to make it more attractive.

As the film is more concentrated on a simple love track surrounded by a corporate environment, it may not be engaging to all sections of the audience. The first half, in particular, is below par, boring the audience highly.

Technical Aspects:

The music by Vivek Sagar is pleasant to listen to, and a few songs are composed well. The cinematography is fine, and the office locations are showcased good. The production values are splendid. The editing should have been better, and the scenes should have been cut short.

Coming to the director, Balu Sharma, he did a below-par job with his execution. His thought to deliver a simple and clean love story is appreciable but had he written the screenplay engagingly, the film would have been much better.

Verdict:

On the whole, Neetho is a rom-com that fails to amuse. The lead pair’s performances and a few moments are its strengths, but all that is marred by patience testing narrative and lengthy runtime. You can skip this film.
