Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad is currently composing music for Ustaad Bhagat Singh, starring Pawan Kalyan and directed by Harish Shankar. A new track from the film is slated for release on February 22, 2026.

In a recent chat with Bollywood journalist Faridoon Shahryar, DSP opened up about his long-awaited acting debut. After years of working behind the scenes as a composer, he is stepping into the spotlight as the lead in Yellamma, produced by Dil Raju and helmed by Balagam director Venu Yeldandi.

DSP revealed that Yellamma is rooted in music, which ultimately convinced him to take on the project. He also disclosed that this move into acting was once planned much earlier.

Years ago, Pushpa director Sukumar had planned to introduce him as a hero in a film. However, the project was later shelved following the demise of DSP’s father and the circumstances that followed.

He added that Trivikram Srinivas, Harish Shankar, producer S. Thanu, and Dil Raju had consistently encouraged him to explore acting. That encouragement has now taken shape with Yellamma, which is expected to go on floors soon.

DSP also mentioned that Dil Raju asked him to dedicate just ten days a month to the shoot so that his music career remains unaffected.
