Director-turned-hero Tharun Bhascker is busy promoting his new film, Gayappada Simham, which is slated to hit the big screens on May 1st. In an interview, Tharun firmly stated that he would never make formulaic entertainers.
“If I make a film with the regular formula of one introduction, four songs, and five fights, that would be my last project. Not just me, even the producer backing it would land in big trouble. Hence, I don’t even like taking advances for such films. Otherwise, my producer will end up swimming in Hussain Sagar,” said the Pelli Choopulu director.
The filmmaker’s statement has sparked a discussion among netizens, and his words indeed sound logical since template-based films are no longer being encouraged by audiences. Right now, Tharun Bhascker is working on the sequel to Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi, which carries solid expectations.
