For the past few days, there have been reports that Bollywood star heroine Alia Bhatt is set to be part of the much-awaited horror sequel Tumbbad 2. According to an exclusive report in Pinkvilla, Alia Bhatt will be seen in a cameo in Tumbbad 2, while she will spearhead Tumbbad 3 alongside Sohum Shah.
The report mentioned, “The actress has already begun shooting for Tumbbad 2, where she will be seen in a packed 20-day schedule. Despite the limited screen time, her character is said to play a crucial role and will bring a major twist in the finale. An insider reveals that Alia’s part is not just impactful but also essential in leading the story into its final chapter. The character is extremely important and directly sets up the events of the third film.”
It is said that Alia Bhatt loved the script, and the decision to come on board for the Tumbbad franchise was a no-brainer for her. The sequel is being mounted on a grand scale with a massive budget of Rs. 100 crores. Tumbbad 2, directed by Aadesh Prasad, is set to arrive in cinemas on December 3, 2027, a slot recently dominated by big-ticket entertainers.
While Sohum Shah plays the lead, Nimisha Sajayan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be seen in pivotal roles. Sohum Shah Films is co-producing Tumbbad 2 along with Jayantilal Gada’s Pen Studios. Pen Marudhar will distribute the film.
