After scoring a string of box-office successes, Anil Ravipudi has officially begun work on his next directorial venture. The film was launched with a grand pooja ceremony in Hyderabad on June 18, 2026, in the presence of the cast and crew.
Starring Venkatesh, Kalyan Ram, Keerthy Suresh, and Kriti Shetty in lead roles, the project is currently being referred to as #VenkyAnil5 and #NKRAR2.
Ahead of the shoot, which begins tomorrow, the makers unveiled a fun promotional video featuring the lead cast and Anil Ravipudi. Titled Kathi Lanti Idea, the video not only carries the director’s trademark humour but also offers a hint about the film’s backdrop and tone.
Speaking about the project, Anil Ravipudi revealed that the story is set in Rayalaseema. While the region has served as the backdrop for several faction-based action dramas over the years, this film aims to present it through a lighter and more entertaining lens. Known for blending comedy with commercial storytelling, the director appears to be attempting a fresh take on a familiar setting.
It remains to be seen how audiences respond to this combination of humour and a traditionally intense backdrop. Given Ravipudi’s strong track record with family entertainers, expectations are already high.
The makers have confirmed that the film will hit theatres during Sankranthi 2027. Music is being composed by GV Prakash Kumar, while Sahu Garapati is producing the project under the Shine Screens banner. Zee Studios, Suresh Productions, and Smt. Archana are presenting the film.
