In a shocking incident, star Kollywood director Shankar’s son-in-law Rohit Damodaran has been booked under the POCSO (The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act for sexually harassing a 16-year-old girl. According to the reports, Rohit, who is the Director and captain of a cricket club, his father and the club Secretary Damodaran, coach Thamarai Kannan, and two others have been named in the complaint lodged by the victim with the Mettupalayam police in Pondicherry on Tuesday.
The girl, who had joined Rohit’s club for cricket coaching, has alleged that she was sexually harassed by the suspects. She had written to the Child Welfare Committee, alleging that she was threatened by her alleged abusers with dire consequences if she filed a complaint against them.
Rohit tied the knot with Shankar’s elder daughter Aishwarya in Chennai in June this year. The wedding was graced by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and several celebrities.
