The entire team of Dookudu graced the star studded event at Vijayawada to celebrate the stupendous success of Mahesh Babu’s Dookudu. Mahesh Babu, Superstar Krishna, Vijaya Nirmala, Srinu Vaitla, Samantha, Anil Sunkara, Gopichand, Ram Achanta, Kota Sreenivasa Rao, Sukumar, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, Murali Mohan, K Raghavendra Rao, KV Guhan, Thaman, Suresh Babu and several other dignitaries from film industry were present at the event.
Thaman and his team enthralled fans of Mahesh Babu with quite a few performances on stage. Initial reports suggest that more than 30,000 people came to the event. This is the second time, after Okkadu’s success event, that Mahesh Babu has graced such a large event in Vijayawada. Here are some of the excerpts from what the dignitaries spoke at the event.
Murali Mohan – Dookudu came at the right time when Telugu film industry was in trouble. This film proved that that US is a big market for Telugu films too. I hope Mahesh Babu acts in Hindi and becomes an all India hero.
Vijaya Nirmala – I don’t see films twice no matter how much I like it. But I ended up watching Dookudu twice and want to watch it again. There are no graphics or any other gimmicks and it ran only because of Mahesh’s glamour, performance and Srinu Vaitla’s direction. When I saw the scene where Prakash Raj comes alive after an accident and I sincerely wished that even our Late CM YSR comes back alive like that.
Sukumar – I am quite excited to make a film with Mahesh. He’s a fabulous actor.
Samantha – I don’t know what to say. I never thought that I would see something like this happening. Thanks to all for everything. It’s a big deal to act with Mahesh and I thank my producers for believing in me.
Krishna – I became quite nostalgic to see Mahesh’s films like Poratam where he played a small role as a child artist (referring to a show reel). Kodi Ramakrishna asked him to act in his film and he convinced Mahesh Babu to play a small role when he was 6-7 years old. Even as a child actor he never had a dupe even in stunt scenes. He was quite adventurous since childhood. We decided that he should complete his education and when K Raghavendra Rao and Aswini Dutt came forward with Rajakumarudu, he made his debut as a lead actor. Dookudu is truly a wonder. It never gets boring. Srinu Vaitla has done a great job. I thank the producers for working hard for this film.
Anil Sunkara – I thank Mahesh for accepting to celebrate the function in Vijaywada. I am proud for being a big fan of Superstar Krishna.
Srinu Vaitla – I thank the audience for making this film a grand success. When I began working on this film, I wanted to make it a big hit and see happiness in Krishna garu’s eyes and I am happy that it all worked. I like Mahesh a lot and I was shocked while I was working with him. He’s a fabulous actor. I believe as an actor he has never failed. I hope to make more films with him.
Mahesh Babu– I still remember the incident which happened on the day of the release. My father had called up Srinu and said that it’ll collect 80 crores. He also said that I looked the best and acted really well in Dookudu. His voice is still ringing in my head. Srinu is the reason why this film became such a sensational hit. I thank him a lot for this success. My producers are one of the best in the industry. I thank all the actors who acted in the film and I have learnt a lot from them. It was a memorable experience working with them because I have never worked with so many actors. I like celebrating my films’ success in Vijayawada and this is the second time after Okkadu. I can never forget my fans’ admiration and love for me. I am really lucky that my father’s fans have become my fans too. This is all because of you and I hope that you’ll continue to support me in future too.
