Star heroine Anushka Shetty’s highly-anticipated thriller, Nishabdham is all set for a direct OTT release on Amazon Prime on October 2, 2020. On this occasion, we had a virtual meeting with the film’s director Hemant Madhukar. Here is the transcript.

Q) How did the project materialize in the first place?

A) Initially, I planned to make the film on a small scale and was doing pre-production work regarding the same. In that process, one day I casually met Kona Venkat and narrated him the script. After listening to the script, Kona garu got excited and asked me to plan it on a large scale with big star cast and crew.

Q) How did Anushka Shetty land in the project?

A) The credits should be given to Kona Venkat as he was the one who suggested Anushka’s name and took me to her. After listening to the script, she immediately said okay to do the project.

Q) How did you approach Madhavan, Shalini Pandey, Anjali, and Hollywood star Michael Madsen?

A) As I share a good rapport with Madhavan, I met him easily and convinced with my narration. Coming to Anjali and Shalini, we went ahead according to the character requirement. Roping in Michael Madsen is a planned one because we wanted someone from Hollywood as most of the film runs in the USA.

Q) Working experience with Anushka?

A) As you all know, she is a good human at heart and treats everyone equally. Apart from that, it is her dedication and desire to explore new things that impressed me a lot. Anushka is the lifeline for our team and the project.

Q) Did you conduct any workshop before going to the shooting?

A) It is not a proper workshop but yes we had an in-depth discussion on every aspect of the film before going to the shooting. Anushka even took training in various forms of mute language and paintings work to portray the character in a perfect manner.

Q) Tell us about your producers?

A) Both Kona Venkat and Vishwaprasad gave me full freedom and never restricted on budget. They are the only reason behind wrapping up the entire shooting part to 55 days and that too in a country like America.

Q) How confident are you on the product?

A) Not only me but my entire team is happy with the final output. As Amazon acquired the film’s streaming rights, a group of Amazon management staff saw the film a few days ago. After watching the film, they made a group call to me and appreciated my work and the film.

Q) What aspects do you think are going to be the major highlights of the film?

A) Apart from the script and artist’s performances, I personally think that the sounding and cinematography by Shaneil Deo will get tremendous applause.

Q) Future projects?

A) As of now, I’m ready with two scripts but will think about them only after the release of Nishabdham.
