CM asks police to be vigilant to tackle terror

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy asked the police to be vigilant and fully prepared to fight terrorism, extremism and cyber crime which are posing a threat to the society.

Inaugurating the All India Police Equesterian Meet-2011 at the National Police Academy on Saturday, he said that in the event of a crisis or a threat people depend on the police. It is the duty of the police to protect the citizens at the time of crucial problems faced by the state. Police is one of the faces of the government whose acts reflect the performance of the government, he said.

The Chief Minister said that the policing aspect has also changed and duties of the police have magnified. Police have to be geared up and be ready for facing multiple challenges in the society. Continuous upgradation of technology, training and modernisation of the police force is very essential, he said adding that presence of mind was very essential for the police.

The Chief Minister also released a souvenir on the occasion. Academy Director VN Roy and other dignitaries were also present. (INN)
