The imminent elevation of D Srinivas has begun to confuse the rank and file of the Congress cadre and leaders in Telengana. They feel Delhi is making a strategic mistake by positioning D S as the face of the movement from the Congress”s side. Except for the fact that he is a minority leader, D S does not have much going for him in terms of boosting the sagging morale of the party in the region.
His twin electoral defeats are not helping the cause. Leaders like Madhu Yaskhi will especially find the rationale more than difficult to digest. This move is all the more confusing when one considers the fact that there are senior leaders with better electoral accomplishments that the Congress has overlooked.
The good news though is, that 17 T Congress MLAs have decided that they will nit have anything to do with the TRS-TJAC combine going forward, and they have also said that they will follow Delhi’s diktat on the matter.
