Telangana Freedom Fighters Association president Konda Laxman Bapuji on Monday stated that he would convene a round-table conference with all-party leaders on January 11 to discuss on need to divide the state in a peaceful and amicable environment.
Talking to media persons here, he said that the round-table Sadbhavana meeting would be held at Prakasam Hall in Gandhi Bhavan with all leaders from three regions.
The veteran Telangana leader appealed to all stake holders to air their views freely on the bifurcation of state and help the Centre to take a decision and quickly put an end to uncertainty.
He said that the people of region would lose confidence if the Centre delays issue in the name of consultation process.
Asking the Centre to honour its promise made in Dec 9, 2009, he said the Telangana issue was delayed mainly due to lack of commitment among the leaders. He also expressed serious concern over the attacks between TDP and TRS members and police arrests during Chandrababu Naidu’s padayatra for the farmers cause in Palakurthy in Warangal district.
He asked the TDP chief as to why he has not made his party stand clear in the all-party meeting convened by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram in New Delhi.
He also questioned Naidu why he is not restricting Seemandra leaders, who are resorting to provoking statements and causing law and order problem in the region. (INN)
