Samaikhyandhra Political Joint Action Committee (SA-JAC) on Monday took unanimous decision to stage rallies and human chains across the Seemandhra region for five days opposing the division of state. The decision was taken after an all-party meeting with various leaders from the districts and students’ unions from 14 universities in the region.

The SA-JAC has also decided to stage rallies and human chains in Gandhian way for five days without resorting to violence from Tuesday. The rallies would highlight the importance of an integrated state. The leaders have also decided to intensify their agitation to mount pressure on the Centre to take a decision in favour of united Andhra Pradesh by November 1.

The SA-JAC leaders alleged that the Telangana leaders, who desecrated statues on Tank Bund during Million March, have conspired to destroy the properties of Seemandhra people during the proposed Chalo Hyderabad programme. They appealed to the State Government not to give permission for the Chalo Hyderabad.
They demanded YSR Congress party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy to make his party stand clear on statehood issue.

Former minister Kodela Siva Prasad, Telugu Desam leaders P Pulla Rao, D Narendra Kumar, Kommalapati Sridhar, MLC Singam Basava Punnaiah, former Mayor of Guntur Rayapati Sai Mohana Krishna, members from Samaikhyandhra Protection Committee and Samaikyaandhra Students Joint Action Committee participated in the meeting.
