‘T’ solution after assembly polls: Azad

Union Health Minister and in-charge of State Congress affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad on Sunday assured that the Telangana issue would be resolved after the completion of assembly elections in five state.

Azad gave this assurance to TNGOs Association president Swamy Goud, TGOs Association president Srinivas Goud and other Telangana leaders who met him at Congress spokesperson Renuka Choudary’s residence here on Sunday morning. Azad, who came to the city to attend Congress Coordination Committee meeting, went to Renuka Chowdary’s residence for breakfast. The Telangana leaders were accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha.

During the meeting, Swamy Goud appealed to Azad to prevail upon Congress president Sonia Gandhi to introduce the bill on separate Telangana in the ensuing budget session of the Parliament.

Later, talking to media persons Swamy Goud said he had urged Azad to take steps towards formation of Telangana by introducing the Telangana bill. He said that the government should honour its promise made to the people in the region without further delay.

Goud warned the government of serious consequences if it fails to introduce the Telangana bill during the budget session. “Compared to the Sakala Janula Samme, this time the agitation will be more intense,” he said.
Stating that many students and people sacrificed their lives for the cause of Telangana, he said “We don’t want any other alternate that formation of Telangana state. Only through creation of a separate state, the people of Telangana region will get justice.”

Azad assured Swamy Goud that the Congress president Sonia Gandhi would focus her entire attention on resolving the Telangana issue after the completion of assembly elections in the five states. (INN)
