TDP demands Jagan’s arrest in assets case
Published on Apr 1, 2012 10:00 am IST

Former minsiter Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy on Sunday demanded that the Central Bureau of Investigation arrest Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the disproportionate assets case.

Talking to reporters here, Chandramohan Reddy said that the it was strange that despite naming Jagan as the prime accused in the charge sheet in the disproportionate assets case, the probing agency did not arrest Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said that Jagan might influence the witnesses and tamper with the evidence if allowed to move freely in the State. Therefore, he said Jagan should be immediately arrested to ensure a fair investigation into the case.

However, the Nellore district TDP president accused the UPA Government of trying to shield Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said when senior politicians like Kanimozi, A Raja and Amar Singh could be arrested; there should not be any problem in arresting Jagan Mohan Reddy. He alleged that some officials and politicians were wrongly trying to create an impression that Jagan’s arrest might disrupt law and situation in the State.

Chandramohan Reddy also slammed Jagan Mohan Reddy for trying to project himself as an innocent. He said Jagan should surrender himself before the CBI and prove his innocence in a court of law. (INN)
